Sweden New Orders Growth Slows in August

Total orders received by Sweden rose by 5.1% year-on-year in August 2026, marking the softest growth since May and slowing from a revised 7.7% increase in the previous month.
Orders in the domestic market continued to decline (-0.7% vs -5.1%), while foreign demand (9.0% vs 15.5%) increased to a lesser extent.
Among industrial groupings, orders for intermediate goods (0.7% vs -5.4%), capital goods (13.2% vs 27.0%), and non-durable consumer goods (9.4% vs 12.2%) increased, while demand for energy-related goods excluding durable goods (-25.2% vs -18.9%), durable consumer goods (-0.5% vs -8.7%) continued to decrease.
On a monthly basis, total orders grew by 2.0% in August, rebounding from a sharp 18.7% fall in the preceding period.
