Sweden Factory Orders Fall 7.3% in March

Total orders received by the Swedish industry fell by 7.3% year-on-year in March 2026, reversing from a downwardly revised 0.6% increase in the previous month.
Orders from foreign customers dropped by 14.5%, worsening from a 1.3% decline in February, while domestic orders rose 6.5%, accelerating from a 4.9% increase.
Among industrial groups, the intermediate goods industry recorded a sharper decline (-25.4% vs -5.6%), while the durable consumer goods industry also turned negative (-1.8% vs 11.2%).
Meanwhile, growth accelerated in the energy-related sector (19.3% vs 6.0%) and the non-durable consumer goods industry (10.7% vs 5.1%).
On a monthly basis, industrial orders fell 1.4% in March, unchanged from an upwardly revised 1.4% decline in the previous month.
In the first quarter of the year, total orders were down 4.0%, with the domestic market growing 3.7% and the export market declining 8.2%.
