Annual inflation in Sweden rose to 1.1% in September 2026 from 0.3% in August, preliminary data showed, but was below market expectations of 1.3%.

The latest reading was the highest since February 2025, driven mainly by higher energy prices amid continued disruptions to Middle East supply.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.9%, rebounding from a 0.3% fall in August.

Meanwhile, the CPI with a fixed interest rate (CPIF), the Riksbank’s target measure, rose by 1.5% from a year earlier in September, accelerating from a 0.7% increase in the previous month and marking the highest level since May, but falling short of the estimated 1.6%.
