Serbia Retail Sales Rise the Least in Over a Year
Serbia's retail trade growth eased to 4.4 percent year-on-year in March 2020, the slowest since December 2018, led by declines in sales of fuel (-9.7 percent) and other non-food products (-1.0 percent). Meanwhile, food sales jumped 14.9 percent.

Serbia Retail Trade Growth at 3-Month Low
Retail sales in Serbia increased 10.9 percent year-on-year in January of 2020, easing from a 13.1 percent rise in the previous month. It was the lowest annual gain in retail trade since October of 2019, as sales increased at a softer pace for food, beverages and tobacco (7.0 percent vs 13.5 percent in December) and non-food products (14.1 percent vs 14.5 percent). Meanwhile, automotive fuel sales advanced faster (14.9 percent vs 9.3 percent). On monthly basis, retail trade slumped 20.1percent, after a 10.5 percent jump in the prior month.

Serbia Retail Sales Rise at Faster Pace in December
Serbia's retail trade rose 13.1 percent from a year earlier in December 2019, following a 11.2 percent growth in the previous month, boosted by sales of food, beverages and tobacco (13.5 percent), non-food products (14.5 percent) and automotive fuel (9.3 percent). Considering 2019 full year, retail trade grew 9.7 percent.
