Poland Producer Inflation Slows in June

Producer prices in Poland rose by 1.7% year-on-year in June 2026, slightly above market expectations for a 1.6% increase but easing from a 2.4% rise in the previous month. The latest reading marked the fourth consecutive month of annual producer inflation, though at a slower pace, as price pressures moderated across most major industrial sectors. The slowdown was driven largely by electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, where prices fell 0.9% after a 0.8% decline in May. Producer inflation also eased in mining and quarrying (2.4% vs 5.6%), manufacturing (2.0% vs 2.6%), and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (1.8% vs 2.0%). On a monthly basis, producer prices declined by 0.2% in June, following unchanged readings in the preceding period.

Producer prices in Poland rose by 2.4% year-on-year in May 2026, slightly below market expectations for a 2.5% gain but accelerating from an upwardly revised 2.1% increase in the previous month. The latest reading also marked the third consecutive month of growth in producer prices after thirty-two straight months of deflation. Among the sections in industry, price increases were recorded in the mining and quarrying sector, where producer prices rose 4.3% (vs 3.1% in April). Within the sector, prices for metal ore mining jumped 11.5%, while coal and lignite mining fell 3.4%. Producer inflation also rose in the manufacturing sector (2.8% vs 2.5%), and in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities (1.3% vs 1.1%). In contrast, costs in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply sector were 1.6% lower than in May 2025 (vs -1.5%). On a monthly basis, producer prices stalled in May, following an upwardly revised 0.6% gain in the preceding period.

Producer prices in Poland rose 1.9% year-on-year in April 2026, defying expectations of a 0.1% decline and following an upwardly revised 1.2% increase in the previous month, marking the second consecutive month of growth after thirty-two straight months of contraction. Inflationary pressures strengthened in the manufacturing industry (2.3% vs 1.5% in March), while costs also accelerated in mining and quarrying (3.7% vs 0.5%). Meanwhile, price growth eased for water supply, sewage, waste management, and remediation activities (1.4% vs 2.1%), while deflation softened slightly in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (-1.2% vs -1.3%). On a monthly basis, producer prices eased 0.5% in April from an upwardly revised 3% rise in the previous period.
