The annual inflation rate in Poland accelerated to 4.0% year-on-year in September 2026 from 3.4% in the previous month, slightly below market expectations of 4.1%, preliminary estimates showed.
This marked the highest reading since June 2025.
The increase was driven by faster growth in prices for fuels and lubricants for private means of transport, which surged 36.1%, while prices for electricity, gas, and other fuels rose 4.9%.
In contrast, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages fell 0.5%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.7% in September from a 0.3% increase in August.
