Mexico's manufacturing business confidence held steady at 48.0 in July 2026, remaining below the 50-point threshold for the 17th consecutive month.

Firms' assessment of the country's current economic situation edged up 0.2 points to 48.3, while expectations for the economy improved 0.3 points to 52.1.

However, the "right time to invest" indicator fell 1.4 points to 32.9.

Meanwhile, manufacturers' assessment of their current business conditions rose 0.2 points to 50.5, and expectations for future business conditions increased 0.5 points to 56.2.

Business confidence in Mexico’s manufacturing sector rose by 0.5 points to 48.0 in June 2026 from May, improving modestly but remaining below the 50-point threshold for the 16th consecutive month. The assessment of the country’s current economic situation increased 0.5 points to 48.1, while expectations for the country’s future economic outlook rose 0.4 points to 51.8. The “right time to invest” component posted the strongest gain, climbing 2.3 points to 34.5. Meanwhile, firms’ assessment of their current economic situation slipped 0.6 points to 50.3, while expectations for their future business conditions edged down slightly by 0.1 point to 55.6.

Investment willingness posted the sharpest decline, falling 1.8 points to 32.4. Expectations for the national economy slipped 0.3 points to 51.4, while assessments of firms’ current situation edged down 0.1 point to 50.8. Perceptions of current national economic conditions were unchanged at 47.6. Meanwhile, companies remained optimistic about their future outlook, with the indicator for firms’ future economic situation standing at 55.8 points.
