Arabica coffee futures surged to around $4 per pound, the highest since October 24, pressured by the continued decline in certified coffee inventories, further exacerbated by US 50% tariffs on Brazilian coffee.
US roasters are still avoiding major contracts with Brazil, as they await developments in US-Brazil trade negotiations.
ICE-monitored arabica inventories fell to a 19.5-month low of 431,728 bags as of October 31.
Meanwhile, traders remained focused on weather conditions in top producer Brazil.
The country's coffee-producing regions experienced irregular and scarce rainfall during the last flowering cycle in October, raising concerns about flowering and fruit set for the 2026 crop.
Brazil’s 2025/26 coffee output is projected at 65 million 60-kg bags, a slight rise from last year, with Robusta growth offsetting a drop in Arabica.
