Baltic Dry Index Rises Further on Wednesday

The Baltic Exchange dry index rose 4.1% to 3,189 on Wednesday, the highest since November 2023.

The capesize index, which typically transport 150,000-ton cargoes, including iron ore and coal, jumped 5.1% to 5,340.

The panamax index, which usually carry 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, increased 4% to 2,454.

Also, the supramax index gained 1.2% to 1,553.

The Baltic Exchange dry index increased 2.1% to 3063 on Tuesday, the highest since December 2023. The capesize index, which typically transport 150,000-ton cargoes, including iron ore and coal, rose 2.1% to 5,082. The panamax index, which usually carry 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, advanced 3.4% to 2,360. Also, the supramax index went up 0.5% to 1,535.

Baltic Dry Index Rebounds
The Baltic Exchange's dry bulk freight index, which monitors rates for ships carrying dry bulk commodities, rose about 1.8% to 3,031 points on Monday, reversing a 1.9% decrease in the prior session. The panamax index, which usually carries 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, advanced by 2.2% to its highest since March 2024 at 2,283 points; and the capesize index, which typically transports 150,000-ton cargoes including iron ore and coal, rose by 0.4% to 4,976 points. Among smaller vessels, the supramax index went up 0.3% to 1,527 points.
