Colombia PPI Growth Accelerates in September

Colombia’s Producer Price Index rose 2.20% year over year in September 2026, accelerating from a 0.76% increase in August.

Mining and quarrying (6.38%) and agriculture, livestock, forestry, hunting and fishing (4.57%) recorded increases above the 2.20% average, while manufacturing rose 0.52%.

The largest price increases were recorded for potatoes (155.92%), citrus fruits (34.58%) and crude petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (10.42%).

In contrast, the main deflationary pressures came from coffee (-32.36%), milled or green coffee (-19.33%) and ethyl alcohol and other alcohols, denatured alcohols of any concentration (-27.51%).

Colombia PPI Growth Hits Lowest Since February
Colombia’s Producer Price Index increased 0.76% year-on-year in August 2026, easing from a 1.51% rise in July and marking the weakest annual increase since February. Agriculture, livestock and fishing was the only sector to record a variation above the overall average, at 6.80%. Industry rose 0.26%, while mining fell 6.59%, both below the overall 0.76% increase. The subcategories with the largest positive contributions were pome and stone fruits, which rose 22.07%, potatoes, which increased 129.82%, and citrus fruits, which gained 58.43%. In contrast, the main negative contributions came from crude petroleum and oils obtained from bituminous minerals, down 5.17%; milled or green coffee, down 19.09%; and coffee, down 18.03%. On a monthly basis, the PPI fell 0.33% in August. Year to date, the index increased 2.95%.

Colombia Producer Inflation Eases in July
Colombia's Producer Price Index rose 1.51% year-on-year in July 2026, slowing from 3.30% in June and marking the weakest annual increase since February. Among the main sectors, agriculture, livestock, and fishing recorded the strongest annual gain at 8.69%, while manufacturing prices rose 0.44%. In contrast, mining prices fell 4.77%. The largest positive contributions to annual producer inflation came from pome and stone fruits (29.73%), citrus fruits (76.62%), and potatoes (93.51%). Meanwhile, the biggest downward contributions came from crude petroleum and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (-7.65%), milled or green coffee (-20.17%), and coffee (-12.97%).
