Colombia Export Growth Slows in June

Colombia's exports rose 7% year-on-year to USD 4.23 billion in June 2026, easing from a 19.2% increase in May and marking the lowest level since the start of the year.

The increase was driven by a 17.1% rise in exports of fuels and extractive industries, which accounted for 42.6% of total shipments, supported by a 17.6% increase in oil and petroleum products, although crude oil export volumes edged up just 0.2% to 13.5 million barrels.

Manufactured exports increased 2.4%, led by an 18.7% rise in chemical products.

In contrast, agricultural and food exports, which represented 25.8% of total exports, declined 10.8%, weighed by lower shipments of cut flowers and foliage (-22.7%) and unroasted coffee (-12.7%).

Colombia Exports Jump Rise in May
Colombia's exports rose 19.2% year-on-year to USD 5.19 billion in May 2026 after increasing 11.7% in April. The gain was driven mainly by a 33.3% rise in fuel and mining exports, reflecting a 32.4% increase in shipments of petroleum and petroleum products. Agricultural, food, and beverage exports edged up 0.7%, supported by higher exports of cut flowers and foliage (24.9%) and coffee extracts, essences, and concentrates (89.2%). Manufactured exports rose 0.2%, led by chemicals and related products (8.0%) and machinery and transport equipment (12.6%). Exports from other sectors surged 67.0%, largely due to a sharp increase in non-monetary gold shipments. Meanwhile, crude oil exports totaled 11.4 million barrels, down 18.1% from a year earlier.

Colombia Exports Rise in April
Colombia’s exports rose 11.7% year-on-year to $4.6 billion in April 2026, following a 20.9% increase in March. The expansion was mainly driven by a 46.2% rise in exports of fuels and extractive industry products, supported by a 72.3% surge in shipments of petroleum and petroleum-related products. Exports from the other sectors category jumped 78.3%, entirely due to higher sales of non-monetary gold. In contrast, manufactured exports fell 8.3%, weighed down by lower shipments of machinery and transport equipment (-24.8%) and manufactured goods classified chiefly by material (-10.4%). Agricultural products, food, and beverages exports declined 27%, largely reflecting weaker sales of unroasted coffee (-49.9%) and cut flowers and foliage (-20%). In the first four months of 2026, Colombian exports totaled $18.4 billion, up 14.5% from the same period a year earlier.
