Colombia Consumer Confidence Rises in March

Colombia’s Consumer Confidence Index rose 1.0 point month-on-month to 19.3% in March 2026, fueled by a 2.4 points jump in the Economic Conditions Index to 8.7%.

Willingness to buy durable goods surged to 10.6% from 2.9%, though assessments of the current economic situation fell to 6.8% from 9.7%.

The Consumer Expectations Index held steady at 26.3%, as households’ outlook on their own future improved to 43.9% from 39.3%, but perceptions of the country’s economic outlook slipped to 19.7% from 21.3%, and broader economic expectations declined to 15.4% from 18.3%.

Compared to March 2025 (-7.1%), the CCI rose 26.4 points.

Colombia’s Consumer Confidence Index rose 4.1 percentage points to 17.8% in May 2026 from April, supported by a 6.8 percentage point increase in the Consumer Expectations Index to 26.7%. Households’ economic outlook improved to 42.1% from 40.2%. Expectations for the general economy rose to 21.1% from 10.2%, while expectations for the country’s future economic conditions increased to 16.8% from 9.2%. Meanwhile, the Economic Conditions Index fell 0.1 percentage point. Assessments of households’ current economic situation weakened to 3.1% from 5.7%, while willingness to purchase durable goods rose to 5.8% from 3.3%. Compared to May 2025, the Consumer Confidence Index was up 21.6 percentage points.

Colombia Consumer Confidence Falls to Six-Month Low
Colombia’s Consumer Confidence Index fell 5.6 percentage points to 13.7% in April 2026 from March, marking the lowest level in six months. The decline was driven by a 6.4 percentage point drop in the Consumer Expectations Index to 19.9% and a 4.2 percentage point decrease in the Economic Conditions Index to 4.5%. Consumer expectations weakened amid a less optimistic outlook for households’ future finances, which fell to 40.2% from 43.9%. Perceptions of the country’s economic outlook also deteriorated sharply to 9.2% from 19.7%, while broader economic expectations declined to 10.2% from 15.4%. Meanwhile, the Economic Conditions Index was pressured by weaker willingness to purchase durable goods, which dropped to 3.3% from 10.6%, and softer assessments of households’ current economic situation, down to 5.7% from 6.8%. Compared with April 2025, however, the confidence index improved by 22.3 percentage points.
