Colombia’s Consumer Confidence Index fell 5.6 percentage points to 13.7% in April 2026 from March, marking the lowest level in six months.
The decline was driven by a 6.4 percentage point drop in the Consumer Expectations Index to 19.9% and a 4.2 percentage point decrease in the Economic Conditions Index to 4.5%.
Consumer expectations weakened amid a less optimistic outlook for households’ future finances, which fell to 40.2% from 43.9%.
Perceptions of the country’s economic outlook also deteriorated sharply to 9.2% from 19.7%, while broader economic expectations declined to 10.2% from 15.4%.
Meanwhile, the Economic Conditions Index was pressured by weaker willingness to purchase durable goods, which dropped to 3.3% from 10.6%, and softer assessments of households’ current economic situation, down to 5.7% from 6.8%.
Compared with April 2025, however, the confidence index improved by 22.3 percentage points.
