Chile Retail Sales Growth at 8-Month Low

Retail sales in Chile rose 4.5% year-on-year in December 2025, marking the slowest growth in eight months, following a downwardly revised 5.8% increase in November.

The main contributors to the expansion were electronics, household equipment, and technology products (6.7%), clothing, footwear, and accessories (6.4%), and other miscellaneous consumer goods (6.1%).

Cumulative growth for the year stood at 5.4%.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, retail sales increased 4.8% year-on-year and rose 0.2% compared to the previous month, reversing a 0.3% decline.

The main positive contributions came from electronics, home and technology equipment (15.9%), clothing, footwear, and accessories (11.6%), and miscellaneous consumer goods (5.6%). On a month-on-month basis, retail sales fell 0.3%, reversing a 1.4% increase in October.
