Chile Retail Sales Soar in October

Retail sales in Chile rose 4.5% year-on-year in December 2025, marking the slowest growth in eight months, following a downwardly revised 5.8% increase in November. The main contributors to the expansion were electronics, household equipment, and technology products (6.7%), clothing, footwear, and accessories (6.4%), and other miscellaneous consumer goods (6.1%). Cumulative growth for the year stood at 5.4%. On a seasonally adjusted basis, retail sales increased 4.8% year-on-year and rose 0.2% compared to the previous month, reversing a 0.3% decline.

Retail sales in Chile rose 5.8% year-on-year in November 2025, easing from 8.4% in October. The main positive contributions came from electronics, home and technology equipment (15.9%), clothing, footwear, and accessories (11.6%), and miscellaneous consumer goods (5.6%). On a month-on-month basis, retail sales fell 0.3%, reversing a 1.4% increase in October.

Retail sales in Chile increased 8.4% year-on-year in October 2025, the biggest gain since June 2024, following an upwardly revised 6.5% rise in September. The biggest contributions came from sales of electronics, household equipment and technology (17.4%); clothing, footwear and accessories (14.3%); and food (5.1%). Compared to the previous month, retail sales jumped 1.4%, the most in four months. So far this year, retail sales were up 5.5%.
