Turkish Tourism Revenues Rise 22.2% YoY in Q4

Tourism revenues in Turkey rose 22.2 percent year-on-year to $ 11.4 billion in the fourth quarter of 2022, of which 84.7 percent came from foreign visitors and 15.3 percent from citizens resident abroad, mainly for personal or package tours.

The average expenditure per night of visitors departing from Turkey was $86 and 63% of the visitors came to Turkey for travel, entertainment, sportive and cultural activities while secondary purpose of visit was visiting relatives & friends by 23%.

Turkish Q3 Tourism Revenues Rise 5%
Tourism revenues in Turkey rose by 5.0% year-on-year to USD 25.5 billion in the third quarter of 2026 from USD 24.0 billion in the same period a year earlier. Individual expenditures accounted for USD 17.1 billion of total tourism revenue, while package tour expenditures amounted to USD 8.2 billion. By spending category, package tours accounted for the largest share (32.3%), followed by food and beverages (20.5%) and accommodation (12.5%). Compared with the same quarter last year, health-related spending increased by 23.6%, while accommodation expenditures rose by 19.0% and domestic transportation spending grew by 12.1%. Meanwhile, most visitors travelled for tourism, entertainment, sports, and cultural activities (74.5%), followed by visits to relatives and friends (16.9%) and shopping (3.7%).

Turkish Tourism Revenues Drop 2.6% in Q2
Tourism revenues in Turkey fell 2.6% year-on-year to USD 15.9 billion in the second quarter of 2026. Individual expenditures accounted for USD 10.9 billion of total tourism revenue, while package tour expenditures amounted to USD 4.7 billion. The largest share of spending was on package tours (30.2%), followed by food and beverages (21%), international transportation (12.4%), and accommodation (11.3%). Compared with the same quarter last year, spending on accommodation increased by 11.7%, while food and beverage spending rose by 5.2%. Meanwhile, spending on package tours declined by 5.5%, and transportation spending fell by 6.1%.

Turkey Tourism Revenues Up 4.2% in Q1
Tourism revenues in Turkey increased 4.2% year-on-year to USD 9.9 billion in the first quarter of 2026. Individual expenditures accounted for USD 8.5 billion of total tourism income, while package tour expenditures constituted USD 1.2 billion. The largest share of spending was on food and beverages (27%), followed by international transportation (15.8%), accommodation (13%), and package tour (12.6%). Compared with the same quarter last year, spending on accommodation increased by 21.2%, health-related expenditures rose by 18.4%, and food and beverage spending grew by 13.7%.
