The Economic Confidence Index in Turkey fell to 97.9 in March 2026 from 100.7 in the previous month.

This marked the lowest reading in six months, as all confidence indicators declined.

Consumer sentiment weakened, with the index easing to 85 from 85.7 in February.

Confidence in the real sector also dropped to 100 from 104.1, while the construction sector outlook deteriorated, falling to 80.6 from 83.9.

The services sector index edged down to 113.2 from 113.8, and retail trade confidence declined to 113.6 from 115.9.

Turkey Economic Confidence Improves
The Economic Confidence Index rose to 100.7 in February 2026 from 99.4 in each of the previous two months. This was the first time the index has surpassed the 100 mark since March 2025, indicating an optimistic outlook about the general economic situation. Retail trade confidence showed a more pronounced improvement, climbing to 115.9 from 112.6 in January. Sentiment in the real sector also strengthened, up to 104.1 from 103.0, while the services confidence index remained steady at 113.8. Consumer confidence improved as well, with the index up to 85.7 from 83.7. Conversely, the construction confidence index fell to 83.9 from 85.7.
