Turkey’s consumer confidence index rose to 90.8 in August 2026 from 89.8 in the previous month.
This marked the highest reading since May 2023, supported by a more favorable assessment of households’ current financial situation, with the corresponding index rising to 75.4 from 74.5 in July.
Confidence in households’ financial situation over the next 12 months also strengthened further, reaching 93.1 from 91.4 previously, while expectations for the general economic outlook over the coming year advanced to 89.4 from 88.3.
Meanwhile, willingness to spend on durable goods was unchanged at 105.1.
Despite the overall improvement in sentiment, the consumer confidence index remained below the neutral 100 threshold, indicating that consumers continued to hold a generally pessimistic view of economic conditions.
