Taiwan Industrial Output Holds Near 5-Year High

Industrial production in Taiwan rose by 22.60% year-on-year in May 2025, slightly easing from an upwardly revised 23.71% gain in the previous month, but it still stands near its highest level since February 2020.
Output increased in manufacturing (24.00% vs 25.18% in April) and water supply (1.51% vs 1.56%).
In contrast, production reversed to a decline in mining and quarrying (-2.36% vs 4.71%), while the contraction moderated in electricity and gas supply (-2.32% vs -2.73%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output rose 3.42% in May, easing from an upwardly revised 9.94% gain in April.
