Taiwan Imports Rise 17.3% in June

Imports in Taiwan rose 17.3% to USD 41.26 billion, mainly due to higher purchases of parts of electronic products (35.1%), machinery (48.6%), information and audio-video products (56.3%).

However, purchases declined for mineral products (-25.0%) and chemicals (-0.1%).

Among major trading partners, imports increased from Mainland China and Hong Kong (15.6%), ASEAN (13.7%), Japan (17.7%), Europe (35.7%), and Korea (36.1%), while imports from the US fell by 5.2%.
