Sweden Economic Tendency Indicator Drops to 5-Month Low

The Economic Tendency Indicator for Sweden fell to 95.2 in March 2025 from a downwardly revised 96.7 in the previous month, marking the lowest level since October 2024.
Consumer confidence dropped sharply (89.8 vs 94.6 in February), reflecting significantly weaker sentiment compared to normal levels.
Sentiment also deteriorated in the trade sector (103 vs 108.7), with firms in the grocery trade and motor vehicle trade being highly pessimistic.
Similarly, confidence weakened in the services sector (97.9 vs 99.7), as businesses remained as dissatisfied with order volumes as they were in February.
On a brighter note, confidence improved in the building and civil engineering sector (101.6 vs 98.6), as well as in the manufacturing industry (96.4 vs 95.6).
