Sweden’s business confidence indicator climbed to 107.4 in July 2026 from a slightly upwardly revised 106.4 in the previous month, marking the highest level since June 2022.
The increase points to a stronger-than-normal business mood, although changes across sectors remained small.
Demand conditions were unchanged at -17, remaining broadly in line with the historical average, while companies reported a decline in employment over the past three months, with the net figure at -3.
However, hiring plans strengthened (6 vs 4 in June), pointing to an increase in workforce levels over the next three months.
Meanwhile, firms’ expectations for sales prices remained elevated, with the net figure edging up to 21 from 20, indicating that companies anticipate price increases to a greater extent than normal.
