Spain Current Account Surplus Narrows in July

Spain’s current account surplus narrowed to €5.91 billion in July 2026, from €6.44 billion a year earlier, mainly as the primary and secondary income deficit widened to €3.31 billion from €1.84 billion.

Meanwhile, the goods and services surplus increased to €9.22 billion from €8.28 billion, supported by stronger tourism revenues, which rose to €14.08 billion from €12.90 billion.

In January-July, the current account surplus declined to €24.57 billion, down from €32.93 billion in the same period of 2025.

Spain Current Account Surplus Narrows in June
Spain's current account surplus narrowed to EUR 2.41 billion in June 2026 from EUR 5.33 billion in the same month last year. The goods and services surplus fell to EUR 3.28 billion from EUR 6.17 billion. Meanwhile, tourism revenues widened to EUR 10.45 billion from EUR 10.08 billion. The primary and secondary income deficit widened to EUR 0.86 billion from EUR 0.84 billion.

Spain's current account surplus narrowed to EUR 1.84 billion in May 2026 from EUR 6.37 billion in the same month last year. The goods and services surplus fell to EUR 5.74 billion from EUR 8.42 billion. Tourism revenues, however, rose to EUR 7.6 million from EUR 6.9 billion a year earlier. Also, the primary and secondary income deficit widened to EUR 3.90 billion from EUR 2.05 billion.
