Slovakia's annual inflation rate eased to 3.3% in July 2026 from 3.5% in June, remaining above market expectations of 3%.
It was the lowest reading since December 2024, largely due to a deeper decline in food and non-alcoholic beverage prices (-2.1% vs -0.5%).
Inflation also slowed for alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics (1.8% vs 3.1%), insurance and financial services (4.6% vs 4.9%), and miscellaneous goods and services (2.6% vs 3.2%).
Meanwhile, price growth accelerated for housing and utilities (7.4% vs 7.3%), transport (7.0% vs 5.3%), clothing and footwear (0.8% vs 0.6%), health (5.1% vs 4.9%), information and communication (2.2% vs 2.0%), and recreation, sport and culture (5.2% vs 4.8%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.1%, compared with market expectations and the previous month's 0.1% decline.
Core inflation, which excludes regulated prices, edged down to 1.7% from 1.9% in June, marking its lowest level since March 2021.
