Slovakia Inflation Rate Eases in June

Slovakia's annual inflation rate rose 3.5% in June 2026, easing from 3.8% in the previous month but coming in slightly above market expectations of 3.4%.
Inflation slowed for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (3.1% vs 3.7% in May), education (6.1% vs 6.2%), restaurants and hotels (4.7% vs 5.2%), insurance and financial services (4.9% vs 5.1%), and transport (5.3% vs 9.4%).
Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices also fell (-0.5% vs 0.3%), while prices remained steady for clothing and footwear (0.6%), recreation and culture (4.8%), and miscellaneous goods and services (3.2%).
Meanwhile, price growth accelerated for housing and utilities (7.3% vs 6.7%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (1.2% vs 0.7%), health (4.9% vs 4.5%), and information and communication (2.0% vs 1.8%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.1% in June, following a 0.4% rise in May.
Core inflation, excluding regulated prices, slowed to 1.9% in June from 2.3% in the previous month.
