Poland Industrial Output Highest in Over 3 Years

Poland’s industrial output advanced 9.4% year-on-year in March 2026, following a downwardly revised 1.3% increase in the previous month, sharply exceeding market expectations of a 4.2% gain.
This marked the highest reading since September 2022, as production in manufacturing rose 9.1% after stagnating in February, supported by stronger activity in food (11.2% vs 4.2%), beverages (12.9% vs 3.8%), wood, cork, straw, and wicker products (5.8% vs 2.5%), and paper and paper products (9.3% vs 5%).
At the same time, output increased in mining and quarrying (21.1% vs 19.5%) and in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (9.9% vs 2.6%).
Meanwhile, growth slowed sharply in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (7.4% vs 12.1%).
On a monthly basis, industrial output jumped 17.2% in March, following a downwardly revised 2.5% increase in the previous period.
