Poland Industrial Output at 3-Month Low

Poland’s industrial output rose by 3.1% year-on-year in April 2026, easing sharply from a downwardly revised 7.5% growth in the previous month and missing market expectations of a 4.2% gain.

This marked the lowest reading in three months, as production slowed in manufacturing (1.9% vs. 7.1% in March), weighed down by declines in the manufacture of food (-1.8% vs. 11.2%) and beverages (-3.8% vs. 12.9%), as well as decreases in the manufacture of wood, cork, straw, and wicker products (0.5% vs. 5.8%) and paper and paper products (5.6% vs. 9.3%).

Additionally, activity in mining and quarrying remained unchanged, at 20.7%.

Meanwhile, output increased in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services (13.3% vs. 9.7%) and electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (11.6% vs. 7.1%).

On a monthly basis, industrial production dropped 7.4% in April, following a downwardly revised 15.2% rise in the previous month.

Poland’s industrial output rose 4.1% year-on-year in May 2026, following a downwardly revised 2.9% increase in the previous month, exceeding market expectations of a 2.5% gain. Production strengthened in manufacturing (2.5% vs 1.6% in April), lifted by higher output in paper and paper products (11.8% vs 5.6%), other non-metallic mineral raw materials (12.2% vs 8.6%), and transport equipment (60.5% vs 15.5%). Additionally, activity increased for mining and quarrying (32.6% vs 21.4%) and electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (13.7% vs 12%). Meanwhile, production slowed for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (11.9% vs 13.7%). On a monthly basis, industrial production dropped 0.8% in May, easing from a 7.6% decline in the preceding period.

Poland Industrial Output Highest in Over 3 Years
Poland’s industrial output advanced 9.4% year-on-year in March 2026, following a downwardly revised 1.3% increase in the previous month, sharply exceeding market expectations of a 4.2% gain. This marked the highest reading since September 2022, as production in manufacturing rose 9.1% after stagnating in February, supported by stronger activity in food (11.2% vs 4.2%), beverages (12.9% vs 3.8%), wood, cork, straw, and wicker products (5.8% vs 2.5%), and paper and paper products (9.3% vs 5%). At the same time, output increased in mining and quarrying (21.1% vs 19.5%) and in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (9.9% vs 2.6%). Meanwhile, growth slowed sharply in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (7.4% vs 12.1%). On a monthly basis, industrial output jumped 17.2% in March, following a downwardly revised 2.5% increase in the previous period.
