Poland Employment Falls More Than Expected

Poland’s corporate employment fell by 0.9% year-on-year in March 2026, bringing total employment to 6.39 million.

The drop exceeded market expectations of a 0.8% contraction and deepened from the 0.8% decrease recorded in the previous month, marking the 30th consecutive month of declines in corporate employment and still the steepest among the sequence.

On a monthly basis, employment fell by 0.1%, following a 0.2% decline in February.

Meanwhile, average monthly gross salaries rose by 5.7% compared to a year earlier, reaching PLN 9,652.

On a monthly basis, employment remained at a 0.1% fall in April due to the absence or reduced scale of additional payments that had been made in the previous month. Meanwhile, average monthly gross salaries increased by 5.8% compared to a year earlier, reaching PLN 9,173.
