Polish Consumer Morale Weakens in August

Poland’s current consumer confidence indicator fell to -11.3 in August 2026, worsening from -10.2 in the previous month.
Evaluations of current major purchases deteriorated the most (-4.9 vs -1.6), while expectations for the country’s future economic situation also weakened (-19.3 vs -17.3).
Expectations for households’ financial situation over the next 12 months declined (-3.1 vs -2.7), as did assessments of the country’s current economic situation (-23.8 vs -23.4).
Meanwhile, households’ financial situation over the last 12 months improved (-5.4 vs -6.0).
The leading consumer confidence indicator also deteriorated, falling to -7.6 from -7.3 in July, with expectations for future savings (-14.1 vs 16.3) and the country’s future economic situation (-19.3 vs -17.3) weakening, while expectations for unemployment improved (-22.2 vs -25.3).
