Poland Industry Confidence Falls to 10-Month Low

The general business climate indicator for manufacturing in Poland fell further to -6.6 in October 2026 from -5.8 in the previous month, marking its lowest level since December 2025. The latest reading also remained below its long-term average of +0.4. Among sectors, sentiment deteriorated in construction (-4.2 vs -2.2 in September), retail trade (-0.3 vs -0.2), wholesale trade (-0.3 vs 0.1), and accommodation and food services (-0.2 vs 3.3). Meanwhile, confidence became less optimistic in transportation and storage (0.7 vs 1.6), information and communication (9.8 vs 11.4), and financial and insurance activities (29.4 vs 30.3).

Conversely, sentiment strengthened in transportation and storage (1.6 vs 1.1), information and communication (11.4 vs 9.9), and financial and insurance activities (30.3 vs 28).

The general business climate indicator for manufacturing in Poland improved to -5.1 in August 2026 from -5.3 in July, marking the highest reading since May, though it remained below its long-term average of +0.4. Among sectors, sentiment strengthened in financial and insurance activities (28.0 vs. 27.4 in July), transportation and storage (1.1 vs. -0.2), and construction (-0.1 vs. -0.3). Meanwhile, confidence weakened in accommodation and food service activities (7.0 vs. 21.2) and retail trade (0.9 vs. 1.4). Business conditions were unchanged in wholesale trade (2.6) and information and communication (9.9).
