Mexico Car Output Hits 2023 Low for February

Mexico’s car production fell by 1.8% year-on-year to 311,457 units in February 2026, the lowest figure for that month since 2023.
Among the major producers, output decreased at General Motors (-0.3% to 69,652), Nissan (-32.7% to 40,214), Ford Motor (-8.1% to 31,508) and Mazda (-25.7% to 13.460).
Production also fell significantly for BMW (-83.9% to 1,431).
On the other hand, output increased for Stellantis (+29.4% to 40,865); Volkswagen (+45.1% to 30,032); KIA (+12% to 24,100); Honda (+12.5% to 14,472) and Audi (+132.3% to 11,764).
Considering the two first months of 2026, auto output reached 625,774 units, down 0.6% from the same period in 2025.
