Mexico Auto Production Rebounds
The production of cars in Mexico jumped 8.5% annually to 243,961 units in December of 2025, rebounding from the 8.4% contraction in the previous month. The increase took place after some volatility in the sector as tariffs on cars and parts by the United States injected uncertainty on demand for Mexico, a major production hub for US consumers. Most of the increase was seen for Ford (55.6% to 34,811) and Stellantis (28% to 33,412). Despite the late-year jump, total car production in 2025 was 0.9% lower than the previous year.
