Mexico’s manufacturing business confidence fell to 48.4 in November 2025, the lowest since April, from a revised 48.9 in October, marking the ninth consecutive month below the 50-point threshold that signals pessimism.

The willingness to invest decreased (-1.1 points to 35.6), while the current assessment of the country’s economic situation (-0.6 to 48) and the company's situation (-0.9 to 49.7) also weakened.

At the same time, the country’s future economic outlook remained steady (at 52.1) but the company's future prospects deteriorated (-0.6 to 55.7).

Mexico Business Confidence Falls to 9-Month Low
The manufacturing business confidence in Mexico eased to 48.4 in January of 2026 from the downwardly revised 48.6 in the previous month, the lowest since April of the previous year, to mark 11 consecutive months below the 50-point neutral threshold. Surveyees noted a deterioration in the outlook of Mexico's economy (-0.4 to 52.1) and the outlook of their companies (-0.4 to 56). Likewise, sharper contractions were noted on whether it is the right moment to invest (-0.1 to 35.3) and the current condition of Mexico's economy (-0.2 vs 48).

Mexico Manufacturing Confidence Improves
Mexico’s manufacturing business confidence rose to 48.9 in December 2025 from an upwardly revised 48.7 in November, remaining below the 50-point threshold for a tenth straight month. Willingness to invest increased 0.1 point to 35.8. The assessment of the country’s economic situation rose 0.3 point to 48.6, while views on firms’ current conditions also improved by 0.3 point to 50.2. Expectations strengthened, with the outlook for the national economy up 0.8 point to 53.0 and companies’ future prospects rising 0.8 point to 56.7.
