The number of tourist arrivals in Macau rose 15.5% year-on-year to 3.647 million in January 2026, easing from a 17.8% increase in December. Same day visitors grew 4.6% year-on-year, while overnight visitors declined 6.6%. Meanwhile, the average length of stay remained at 1 day, with overnight visitors’ stays increasing by 0.1 day to 2.3 days. By source market, arrivals from China fell 1.6% year-on-year to 2.705 million, with those traveling under the Individual Visit Scheme down 9.6% to 1.452 million, mainly due to a higher comparison base as last year’s Lunar New Year holidays fell in late January. Arrivals from Hong Kong declined 1.3%, while Taiwan rose 20.7%.
