Visitor arrivals in Macau slumped 80.5 percent year-on-year to 556,765 in January 2021, after a 78.6 percent plunge in the previous month, amid the severe impact caused by the COVID-19 crisis. Same-day visitors tumbled 81.2 percent, while overnight visitors dropped 79.6 percent. Visitors from China shrank 76.7 percent, with those traveling under the Individual Visit Scheme falling 84.3 percent. Also, visitors from Hong Kong and Taiwan slumped 89.4 percent 85.5 percent, respectively.

Visitor arrivals in Macau slumped 78.6 percent year-on-year to 659,407 in December 2020, after a 78.1 percent plunge in the previous month, amid the severe impact caused by the COVID-19 crisis. Same-day visitors tumbled 83.3 percent, while overnight visitors dropped 73.6 percent. Visitors from China shrank 71 percent, with those traveling under the Individual Visit Scheme falling 73.2 percent. Also, visitors slumped from Hong Kong (-92.9 percent), Taiwan (-94.9 percent). For 2020 full year, visitor arrivals plunged 85 percent year-on-year to 5,896,848.

Visitor arrivals in Macau tumbled 78.1 percent year-on-year to 636,351 in November 2020, after a 81.9 percent slump in the previous month, amid the severe impact caused by the COVID-19 crisis.
