Indonesia's exports grew 11.87% year-on-year to a four-year high of USD 27.59 billion in September 2026, surpassing forecasts of a 6.45% rise and accelerating from a 6.72% increase in August.
It was the fourth consecutive monthly increase in exports and the strongest growth since April.
Non-oil and gas exports rose 12.39% from a year earlier to USD 26.64 billion, driven by increases in animal and vegetable fats and oils (89.04%), mineral fuels (11.99%), and electrical machinery and equipment, including parts (24.37%).
By destination, non-oil and gas exports increased mainly to key trading partners, including the US (23.21%), China (11.82%), Japan (5.0%), ASEAN (12.46%), and the EU (3.80%).
By contrast, oil and gas exports fell 0.99% to USD 0.95 billion due to a decline in crude oil exports (-100.0%).
Meanwhile, oil product and natural gas exports increased 53.60% and 2.08%, respectively.
In the first nine months of 2026, exports climbed 5.58% to USD 221.23 billion.
