Indonesia Consumer Mood Rises to 3-Month High

Indonesia’s consumer confidence index increased for the first time in four months to 118.5 in August 2026 from 116.8 in the previous month, which was the lowest level since April 2025.
It was the highest reading since May, largely boosted by stronger assessments of current economic conditions, which rose by 1.5 points to a three-month high of 109.4.
Sentiment toward durable goods purchases also increased by 2.0 points to 106.1, while perceptions of job availability over the past six months advanced by 3.0 points to 104.1.
Meanwhile, expectations for income over the next six months went up 1.3 points to 134.9.
At the same time, expectations regarding job availability also rose by 2.6 points to 125.7, while expectations for business activity increased by 1.7 points to 122.1.
