India has launched an anti-dumping investigation into imports of Polyester Textured Yarn (PTY) originating in or exported from China, following an application filed by Reliance Industries Limited and Wellknown Polyester Limited, the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) said Thursday, as reported by the Economic Times.
The applicants alleged that PTY from China has caused material injury to the domestic industry.
The application was supported by Filatex India Limited, Madelin Enterprises Private Limited, Garden Silk Mills Limited, Indorama Synthetics Limited, and Sanathan Textiles Ltd. The DGTR stated that there is “sufficient prima facie evidence” that the product is being dumped in the Indian domestic market by Chinese exporters.
The period of investigation is from April 1, 2024, to June 30, 2025.
