India’s Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has recommended a five-year anti-dumping duty on certain steel imports from China to protect the domestic industry, The Economic Times reported.
The DGTR concluded that cold-rolled non-oriented electrical steel has been exported to India at prices below the normal value, resulting in dumping.
The proposed duty would be USD 223.82 per tonne for certain Chinese companies, and USD 414.92 per tonne for others.
While the DGTR recommends the duty, the final decision rests with the Ministry of Finance.
