China has lifted export curbs on rare earth magnets, fertilizers, and tunnel boring machines to India, according to a report by the India Times on Tuesday.
The lifting of these curbs was confirmed during Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi’s recent visit to India, where he assured External Affairs Minister S.
Jaishankar that China would address India's needs for fertilizers, rare earths, and tunnel boring machines.
India had strongly raised its concerns with China, particularly regarding the sudden fertilizer restrictions, which had directly affected the availability of Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP) during the Rabi season.
The auto and electronics industries also flagged serious concerns over Chinese export restrictions on rare earth magnets and minerals, warning that the resulting shortages could significantly disrupt production.
