India Infrastructure Output Growth at 6.1% in July

Infrastructure output in India rose 6.1% year-on-year in July 2024, following an upwardly revised 5.1% increase in June.

Output rebounded for petroleum refinery products (6.6% vs -1.5% in June 2024) and increased at a higher rate for fertilizers (5.3% vs 2.4%), cement (5.5% vs 1.9%) and steel (7.2% vs 6.7%).

In contrast, output grew at a slower pace for coal (6.8% vs 14.7%) and electricity (7% vs 8.6%).

Meanwhile, output shrank for natural gas (-1.3% vs 3.3%) and crude oil (-2.9% vs -2.6%).
