Finland Producer Inflation Accelerates in July

Producer prices in Finland rose by 6.9% year-on-year in July 2026, accelerating from a 6.7% increase in the previous month.

The rise was mainly driven by higher prices in the manufacturing sector, which accelerated to 7.6% from 5.8%, particularly refined petroleum products and basic metals.

Producer price growth for water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services also increased 11.5% from 11.1%.

Meanwhile, producer inflation in mining and quarrying eased to 11.9% from 14.9%.

Price growth was further restrained by a sharp decline in electricity prices, with producer prices in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply falling 4.2% year-on-year, compared with a 15.0% increase in June.

Lower prices for paper and paper products also helped limit the overall increase.

On a monthly basis, producer prices inched up by 0.1% in July, rebounding from a 0.7% fall in the preceding period.

Finland Producer Inflation Eases in June
Producer prices in Finland rose 6.7% year-on-year in June 2026, easing from a three-year high of 7.4% in the previous month. Price growth slowed in manufactured products (5.8% vs 6.4% in May), particularly in beverages (1.3% vs 4.9%), computers, electrical and optical products (8.7% vs 9.2%) and machinery and equipment (2.2% vs 2.4%), while declines were recorded in the manufacture of textiles (-0.3% vs 1.0%) and glass and glass products (-0.2% vs 0.8%). Moreover, inflation grew at a softer pace for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (15.0% vs 17.9%). On the other hand, costs increased in mining and quarrying (14.9% vs 11.9%) and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (11.1% vs 10.1%). On a monthly basis, producer prices fell by 0.7% in June, following a 1.3% growth in the preceding period.

Finland Producer Prices Rise in May
Producer prices in Finland advanced by 7.4% year-on-year in May 2026 from 4.6% in the previous month. Costs increased in manufactured products (6.4% vs 4.7% in April), particularly in beverages (4.9% vs 0.4%), wearing apparel (4% vs 2.6%), chemical and chemical products (4.9% vs 0.9%), and rubber and plastic products (5.3% vs 1.1%), while prices rebounded in textiles (1.0% vs. -0.6%) and basic pharmaceutical products (3.4% vs. -4.2%). In addition, inflation accelerated in mining and quarrying (11.9% vs. 9.3%), electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply (17.9% vs. 1.0%), and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (10.1% vs. 6.6%). On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 1.3% in May, following a 1.2% rise in the previous month.
