Finland Producer Prices Ease in March

Producer prices in Finland rose by 2.6% year-on-year in March 2026, easing from 3.8% in the previous month. Price growth slowed for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (4.5% vs 10.4% in February), while costs plunged for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-8.3% vs 41.4%). In contrast, prices increased for manufactured products (3.5% vs 0.2%), lifted by higher costs in wearing apparel (1.7% vs 1.2%), printing and reproduction services of recorded media (1.7% vs 0.5%), basic metals (8.3% vs 6.2%), electrical equipment (3% vs 2.1%), and furniture (3.8% vs 3.7%). At the same time, costs picked up for mining and quarrying (8% vs 5.7%). On a monthly basis, producer prices dropped 1.4% in March, following a 1.9% growth in the preceding period.

Costs recovered for manufactured products (0.2% vs -0.5% in January), lifted by higher prices in wearing apparel (1.2% vs 0.4%), electrical equipment (2.1% vs 1.6%), and basic metals (6.1% vs 5.3%), while deflation slowed in textiles (-1.1% vs -2.5%), paper and paper products (-8.7% vs -9.1%), and chemical and chemical products (-2.7% vs -3.8%). At the same time, prices increased in mining and quarrying (5.7% vs 3.7%), electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (41.4% vs 26.9%), and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (10.4% vs 4.3%). On a monthly basis, producer prices grew by 1.9% in February, easing from a 4.3% rise in the preceding period.

Producer prices in Finland rose by 1.9% year-on-year in January 2026, rebounding from a 0.8% fall in the previous month. This marked the largest increase in producer prices since March 2023, as deflation softed for manufactured products (-0.5% vs -0.9% in December 2025), driven by higher prices in basic metals (5.3% vs 0.7%), pharmaceutical products (9% vs -1.8%), and rubber and rubber products (3.6% vs 0.3%). At the same time, costs increased in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (4.3% vs 4.2%), while prices recovered sharply in mining and quarrying (3.7% vs -0.3%) and electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning (26.9% vs -2.2%). On a monthly basis, producer prices grew by 4.3% in January, recovering from a 1% drop in the preceding period.
