Industrial production in Finland rose by 4.5% year-on-year in July 2026, marking the strongest growth since March and accelerating from a downwardly revised 4.4% gain in the previous month.
The increase was largely driven by higher output in the manufacturing sector, rising 5.3% after a 4.1% gain in June, as increased activity in the metal (9.5% vs 9.6%) and chemical industry (1.9% vs -3.5%) more than offset declines in the manufacture of furniture (-17.4% vs -17.9%) and printing and reproduction of recorded media (-6.1% vs -7.9%).
Meanwhile, mining output dropped 13% after rising 4.8% in the previous month, while production growth softened for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (3.1% vs 6.7%).
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial activity decreased by 1% in July, slipping from a downwardly revised 1.9% increase in the preceding period.
