Danish Consumer Confidence at 6-Month High

Denmark’s consumer confidence rose to -13.1 in August 2026 from -14.7 in the previous month, marking the highest level since February.
Expectations for the country’s current economic conditions over the past 12 months became less negative (-22.7 vs -23.8 in July), while households’ assessment of their financial situation compared with a year earlier also improved (-7.6 vs -10.5).
For the year ahead, households’ expectations turned positive (0.4 vs -3.5).
At the same time, willingness to make major purchases of consumer goods, such as a television or washing machine was also less negative (-14.9 vs -16.9).
Outside the index, perceptions of current price growth eased (29.9 vs 30.4), while expectations for price growth over the next 12 months increased (30.5 vs 25.0).
Concerns about unemployment over the year ahead also increased (15.8 vs 15.0).
