The Czech unemployment rate edged down to 4.9% in April 2026 from 5.0% in the previous month, slightly above market expectations of 4.8%.
This was driven by continued seasonal employment and the economic recovery, bringing the jobless rate to its lowest level since December 2025.
The number of unemployed individuals fell by 7,866 month-on-month to 364,472 but was still up by 45,932 compared to the same month last year.
Meanwhile, the number of registered job vacancies rose by 2,938 from the previous month to 94,483.
