Czechia Producer Prices Rise for Fourth Month

Producer prices in the Czech Republic rose 1.6% year-on-year in July 2026 from 1.3% in the previous month, marking a fourth consecutive month of annual growth after fourteen months of decline.

Costs increased for manufactured products (3.2% vs 2.8% in June), particularly basic metals (4.7% vs 3.1%) and machinery and equipment (1.2% vs 0.7%).

At the same time, deflation eased slightly for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning (-3.9% vs -4.4%).

Meanwhile, prices slowed for mining and quarrying (1.9% vs 2.1%), while remaining steady for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services at 3.9%.

On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.3% in July, rebounding from a 0.4% decline in June.

Producer prices in the Czech Republic rose 1.3% year-on-year in June 2026, below market expectations of 1.5% and easing from 1.5% in the previous month. This marked the third consecutive month of annual growth after fourteen months of contraction. Price growth slowed for manufactured products (2.8% vs. 3.6% in May), weighed down by steeper declines in food products (-5.0% vs. -4.0%), softer declines in motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers (-1.4% vs. -1.5%), and slower growth in machinery and equipment (0.7% vs. 0.9%). Cost increases also eased for mining and quarrying (2.1% vs. 2.3%). Meanwhile, deflation softened for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (-4.4% vs. -6.0%), while inflation for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities was unchanged at 3.9%. On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 0.4% in June, deepening from a 0.1% decline in May and marking the second consecutive month of contraction after three months of inflation.

Producer prices in the Czech Republic rose 1.5% year-on-year in May 2026, following a 1% rise in the previous month, though remaining below market expectations of 2.3% rise. This marked the second consecutive month of annual growth after fourteen months of contraction, as prices continued to increase for manufactured products (3.6% vs 3.1% in April), particularly basic metals (3% vs 2.6%). Costs also rose at a faster pace for mining and quarrying (2.3% vs 1.7%), while prices for water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services remained steady at 3.9%. Meanwhile, deflation softened for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-6% vs -6.4%). On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 0.1%, reversing a 1.4% increase in April and missing market expectations of a 0.6% growth.
