Czechia Producer Prices Rise for Second Month

Producer prices in the Czech Republic rose 1.3% year-on-year in June 2026, below market expectations of 1.5% and easing from 1.5% in the previous month. This marked the third consecutive month of annual growth after fourteen months of contraction. Price growth slowed for manufactured products (2.8% vs. 3.6% in May), weighed down by steeper declines in food products (-5.0% vs. -4.0%), softer declines in motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers (-1.4% vs. -1.5%), and slower growth in machinery and equipment (0.7% vs. 0.9%). Cost increases also eased for mining and quarrying (2.1% vs. 2.3%). Meanwhile, deflation softened for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (-4.4% vs. -6.0%), while inflation for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities was unchanged at 3.9%. On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 0.4% in June, deepening from a 0.1% decline in May and marking the second consecutive month of contraction after three months of inflation.
