Producer prices in the Czech Republic rose 1.5% year-on-year in May 2026, following a 1% rise in the previous month, though remaining below market expectations of 2.3% rise.
This marked the second consecutive month of annual growth after fourteen months of contraction, as prices continued to increase for manufactured products (3.6% vs 3.1% in April), particularly basic metals (3% vs 2.6%).
Costs also rose at a faster pace for mining and quarrying (2.3% vs 1.7%), while prices for water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation services remained steady at 3.9%.
Meanwhile, deflation softened for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-6% vs -6.4%).
On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 0.1%, reversing a 1.4% increase in April and missing market expectations of a 0.6% growth.
