The consumer confidence indicator in the Czech Republic fell to 103.4 in May 2026 from 106 in the prior month, marking the lowest reading since September 2025.
Expectations for the general economic situation over the next 12 months were broadly unchanged, with the share of consumers anticipating deterioration remaining steady.
Sentiment around personal finances weakened, as more respondents reported their current financial situation as worse than a year earlier, while fewer households expected an improvement over the next year on a month-on-month basis.
Meanwhile, the proportion of consumers not planning major purchases over the next 12 months increased compared to April.
