Czechia Construction Output at 5-Month Low

Construction output in the Czech Republic increased 2.0% year-on-year in June 2026, easing from a 4.4% rise in the previous month and marking the slowest pace of growth since January.
Building construction output increased 6.3% compared with a year earlier, while civil engineering activity contracted 5.3%.
A total of 5,545 building permits were issued during the month, up 1.8% year-on-year, while the floor area of newly permitted buildings surged 76.3%.
Meanwhile, housing starts jumped 52.9% from a year earlier to 4,103 units, whereas the number of completed dwellings declined 17.8% year-on-year to 2,699.
On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, construction output fell 0.3% in June, reversing a 0.2% increase recorded in May.
