Tin futures rebounded to $53,000 per tonne from the three-month low of $51,450 on October 8th, amid renewed optimism on AI infrastructure, which is expected to drive global tin demand.
Strong utilization rates for new AI agents released by Meta drove chipmaker stocks to rally at the turn of October, supporting the outlook for tin.
This was further bolstered by reports of potential IPOs from Anthropic and OpenAI, alongside fresh capital-raising rounds by SoftBank and SpaceX, which have invested heavily in infrastructure.
Tin consumption remained underpinned by electrification projects and AI infrastructure development due to the metal's broad utility in data centers and battery storage facilities.
The metal's critical role in precision soldering across AI hardware prompted industry players to signal that tin demand in AI servers could triple by 2030.
Meanwhile, supply from major producer Indonesia remained constrained as Jakarta pulled back on the issuance of export licenses.
